Android Debug Bridge or ADB is a communication tool between your smartphone and PC that you will find in Android Software Development Kit (SDK). It is basically a command line tool that does the communication between your Android device and a computer via command prompt. With ADB, you can easily control your device using USB, transfer files and it runs powerful shell commands. ADB can be used to send terminal commands to an Android device for changing the system level.

With your command window open, now it’s time to change directories. You need to run this command from the platform-tools folder within your ADB installation directory, which will vary depending on how you installed ADB. For this, you have to search your hard drive for the platform-tools folder.

Most built-in file browsers (like Windows Explorer) will have a search bar in the top-right corner, so just type in “platform-tools.” Once you’ve found the folder, copy its full location, which should look something like this, depending on your operating system. See the image below for your reference.

After copying the path, now go to the Command Prompt and type “cd” into it then add a space. After this, paste the full folder location into the prompt and hit enter. The end result should look like this:

cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools
