How to Unlock Bootloader on Honor View 10

After the launch of Honor View 10, many Android geeks are looking for the various methods to root it. But, before rooting your Android phone, the essential part is to unlock the bootloader of it. So, in this article, I am going to list the steps with which you can successfully unlock the Bootloader of.

If you are new to this term, I will first explain What Unlock Bootloader means. So, Bootloader is a code which runs when we turn on our device. This code initializes someand then loads the kernel and ramdisk, and gets the boot process going. So this process is known as Bootloader.

Note: Unlocking the bootloader on your Honor View 10 device will void its warranty completely and delete/wipe all data on the device. Before doing it, make sure to backup your important data like Contacts, Photos, Videos, Music and other files on the device to a safe place.

Steps to Unlock Bootloader on Honor View 10

For successful Unlocking of Bootloader on Honor View 10, follow these steps carefully.

Step 1: First, you have to Enable the Developer Options on your Honor View 10. This is the hidden option and you have to enable it to allows bootloader unlocking.

For this, go to the “Settings” and then head towards “About Phone” at the end of the settings menu. Now scroll down and tap the “Build number” option seven times rapidly. After this, you will see a message “Congratulations, you are now a developer!“.

Step 2: After enabling the Developers Mode, now go back to Settings. There you will see the Developers Option is now available. Now, tap on the Developer Option and enable the switch next to the “OEM unlocking” setting.

Step 3: Now,by clicking the link and Extract it on your PC.

Step 4: Once you have successfully extracted the ADB Fastboot tool, go to that extracted folder and Open Command Window by pressing Shift Key + Right Mouse Click.

Step 5: Now, connect your Honor View 10 Phone to PC via.

Step 6: After connecting your phone, check whether your device is connected to Command window properly by typing the following command:

adb devices

Step 7: If you see a pop up to allow USB Debugging on your phone, Click OK.

Step 8: Now, you have to Reboot your Honor View 10 into Bootloader. For doing this, type the following Command in the Command Prompt windows:

adb reboot bootloader

Step 9: After executing the above command, your device will boot into bootloader. If it doesn’t boot, then please make sure your cable and USB drivers have been installed properly.

Step 10: Once your phone reboot into bootloader, make sure your phone shows the bootloader locked and then type the command below to make sure fastboot drivers are installed properly.

fastboot devices

The above-mentioned command will display all the connected devices. If your phone’s serial number shows up there, then you can proceed further. Once your device is shown after execution of the above commend, then type the following command to unlock the bootloader:

fastboot oem unlock

Step 11: After execution of above command, the unlocking process will start. Wait for the process to complete. After this, run the following command to reboot your device:

fastboot reboot

After the rebooting process will complete, you can disconnect your phone from your computer. But, one thing which you have to note that the first time your device boots after unlocking the bootloader will take longer than usual. Now, restart your phone and run through initial setup again. You are done now, the Bootloader of your Honor View 10 is Unlocked. Now, you can easily root your device.
